"May we labor side by side with the Lord of the vineyard, giving the God and Father of us all a helping hand with His staggering task of answering prayers, providing comfort, drying tears, and strengthening feeble knees."
-Jeffrey R. Holland
Ministering vision
What is ministering? What does it mean to minister?
Ministering is learning of and attending to others’ needs. It is doing the Lord’s work. When we minister, we are representing Jesus Christ and acting as His agents to watch over, lift, and strengthen those around us

What are our responsibilities?
Help families strengthen their faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ
Help families prepare to make and keep sacred covenants with God as they receive ordinances
Discern needs and provide Christlike love, caring, and service. Offer help and comfort in times of spiritual or temporal need
Help families become spiritually and temporally self-reliant
How do we start?
Make contact
Get to know them
Become a friend
Pray for them and for guidance
Minister to them
Maintain the relationship
What is the “pod” system?
Our goal is to make ministering as simple as possible. The pod system is not a different type of ministering, it is just using a new organization of ministering assignments to accomplish the work
Homes are grouped into “pods” of 3-5 neighboring homes. All members of each household will be ministers to each other (i.e. you don’t have assigned companions)
What are the practical considerations?
First and foremost, you are a minister, always and every day
You minister to all members of your pod
Priesthood holders provide blessings as needed
To ensure coordinated leadership, once or twice per year, your household is the pod lead for a quarter and has three main responsibilities:
Organize a pod get together for the quarter. You can combine with other pods
Be the lead for any needs within your pod
Report to the presidency about needs within your pod (throughout the quarter and via your ministering interview)
Each quarter, a presidency member will reach out to the lead pods to let them know of their responsibility
We will hold a ministering interview with the pod lead and correspond with them throughout the quarter about pod needs
